In our penultimate match, we faced a formidable Woodlands C team that seemed to have the title all wrapped up. A big Pingsters victory was required, and we did just that. Pingsters ran away with an emphatic 10-0 win. It was a beautiful performance, with all three Pingsters—Charlie, Rudi, and Stuart—showing grit and determination, bringing us closer to the winning line.
We needed three points from our final season match against Woodlands B. Stepping into the limelight for his season debut, The Mountain delivered in style to guarantee the title. Thomas secured victories in all three games and was named Player of the Match. Rudi and Neil also contributed with three wins each and the doubles, leading to Pingsters’ fourth consecutive 10-0 win.
Finishing the season as Division 1 Worthing League Champions was a fitting and hugely satisfying way. Let’s do it again next time!
